A huge portion of our health and fitness business deals with helping people who are dedicated to losing fat, finally break through and get in shape. These are people who have tried diet & exercise programs but ultimately failed. These are smart people with good intentions but they find that even the most strict dedication to diets isn?t working for them. In this short article I want to tell you the number one reason why you can?t lose fat. A client of ours, let?s call her Susie, came to us the other week. She said, ?Derek, I?m on this new diet plan and it?s not working. I?ve been eating healthy foods and exercising consistently. I?m doing everything right but it?s not working. What?s going on here??

The answer is not what you?ll typically hear. It?s not the diet that?s at fault. In fact, most of the time, the popular diets you?ll find on the web and on TV will actually work. They?re based on good nutritional science. And it?s not bad ?fat? genetics or anything like that. The number one reason why most diets fail is because you?re not digesting foods properly. That?s right. Digestion is the key to everything. Nobody is born fat! It happens over time.

After years of bad food choices and improper, or zero, exercise, your body effectively goes into a state of rough turbulence. Most of the bad foods we consume on a daily basis aren?t digested by the body properly. This leads to the accumulation of debris from slightly undigested foods in your digestive tract. Before you know it the problem begins to compound: the first bits of debris cause more food to go undigested, which then causes even more debris to build up, and so forth.

In the end, your insides become backed-up and clogged. And your body then cannot digest the foods you?re eating. This causes insulin (the hormone responsible for fat storage) to spike when you eat and leads to blood sugar crashes? which leads to a poor metabolism? which leads to body fat. This is why if you?re not digesting your foods, then you?ll gain fat no matter what you do. Everything in your body will begin to work against you and because your digestive processes aren?t functioning properly, traditional diets just simply don?t work. In fact, they only add to the problem. The number one reason you?re not losing fat is because of poor digestion.
