Hate it. Love it.? You gotta do it.. If you?re in the direct sales network marketing industry you?re probably one of the many that realise that PROSPECTING is not a dirty word but a necessity in your direct sales network marketing business.
It?s tough,
It?s frustrating,
and sometimes just darn SCARY
when you first join your primary direct sales network marketing business, but unavoidable if you intend building and growing a successful business.
For some it?s of the above until a shift happens, yes in you!
You see prospecting the right way is all about having a mindset shift. There are wrong ways and right ways of prospecting, so let?s chat about it.
Prospecting can be fun, the reason you initially joined your direct sales network marketing business is so that ultimately you could achieve that BIG dream that you may have ?
It may be more holiday?s, spending less time at the office , travelling around the world with you family or time freedom to do what you love most and also financial freedom, whatever your reason, can only be achieved by getting great at prospecting and getting people to join you in your primary direct sales network marketing business.
We all know that everyone hates been sold to ? so don?t sell.
Some important stuff to remember an apply when prospecting;
Establish rapport
The most important thing that you can do. Get this right, and half the battle is won .People buy from you when they know, like and trust you.
Engage your prospect in conversation,
Ask relevant questions that get them thinking and talking about what they want, their dreams, the goals to achieve etc. While they are speaking, take notes, dig deeper ( as much as they will allow ) don?t be nosy!
Become a good listener
Avoid interrupting and allow the prospect to hear his own thoughts ? this is precious as what happens here is while you are asking questions the prospect is actually reaffirming to themselves what they want and this can often cause them to sell themselves on your offer.
Believe in yourself, your product and your company.
You cannot expect anyone to join you, your business or buy your product if you have no belief in it.
Posture, Posture, Posture
You will often hear. ?it?s all about the posture? ? prospects can smell uncertainty from a mile away ? come across as being confident, sit up straight, be sure of who you are.
Prospecting should be a relaxed conversation that you should be having with someone who has shown an interest in what you have to offer, They are approaching you, and you are providing information ( just enough) to keep the prospect interested.
A few donts ;
Interview the prospect, after all this is your business, you get to choose who you want to work with and who should join your team. Don?t let them interview you.
Don?t let them ask you too many questions that could be time wasters ? get their questions answered by getting them in front of your direct sales network marketing business presentation.
Don?t get emotionally attached to the outcome, You are providing valuable information that can assist them in changing their lives ? FOR THE BETTER, If say No, just thank them and move on, keep in touch and continue to build a relationship ? this might just not be a good time for them that?s all ? nothing personal.
You will find that when you detach yourself from the outcome you can move on to the next prospect easily. It?s similar to prospecting for gold. The nuggets you look for will stick and you get to keep the good ones.
Take charge of the conversation and lead your prospect to where you would like them to go, lead the way to the next step.
In closing a great tip that was shared with me a few weeks or so ago, was to say after ?identifying the prospect as a match, ~ ?so seems to me like you?re ready to join, lets get the process started.? ~ ?simple, easy and certain.
No need to bull doze them into making a decision, just a gentle nudge in the right direction will do.
