Gold Investment Funds and Should You Invest In Silver in Everett ...

It now appears that gold will now sustain a completely vibrant market and could encourage better quality investment. There is certainly good awareness now about the bullion as a possible important investment vehicle. Many investors have turned on the gold etfs, that have become most proffered hedges from the downturn in the economy. ETF investments now take into account an important chunk of entire ignot investments.

Gold and silver investments happen to be noted to stay constant in order to even increase in value over trades and exchanges. When most currencies have fallen throughout the economic turmoil of the past few years, gold, silver, along with other precious metals failed to depreciate in value. In reality, they appear to be even increasing in value. If solutions that it would decrease, it is seldom noticeable. Besides, its value is based on the pros and cons with the economy and also the stock exchange. The real price of gold is oftentimes not stated.
Gold is inversely correlated using the dollar. Hence, as the dollar weakens, as well as the fears of it further weakening increases, a purchase demands for gold increases. Gold offers a reliable defense against currency weakness, which is a common thing today. Most investors believe gold to be the best haven. In the present economic climate, that is fraught with uncertainty, the gold investment demand is rising.
Whenever you invest, you set down bricks at present to construct your hair a castle for future years. A huge structure just isn?t even necessary. What is important is the fact that there will be something for you to look forward to in the future no matter its value in proportions or number. If you have something it is possible to rely on.

Gold plays an important role keeping in mind the cost-effective circle in our world alive. A lot of the developed and developing nations around the globe have invested in gold as shares. It will help different countries during economic downturns and serves as a way to obtain financial security. This means that gold investment is probably the best investment options nowadays.
Gold is real cash, real wealth. The reason that gold is real wealth happens because it really is in limited supply, in great demand plus it be expensive to coax it of the ground. Essentially oahu is the anti-fiat currency. It?s the direct complete opposite of exactly what paper money is. Fiat currencies are printed for close to nothing and so they may be expanded impulsively. Governments are capable of doing whatever they want with paper money and pass the consequences on to the taxpayer with out calling it a tax increase. The very best of all possible for that bloated ever expanding government. This is another excuse why, soon, gold investing will be the only investing.

Prior to deciding to do anything else, you have to make sure that you understand what?s going on on the market. It doesn?t only apply to silver. In addition, it applies to other activities like website marketing, off-line marketing, creating our regular business, reselling anything, etc. Knowing what?s going on available in the market, you?ll always stick to top of everything and you?ll never overpay for your product. For example:
No matter which item/s you might be buying, there are numerous benefits you can reap from this. The most important that is purchasing the long run. Economy related predictions would not have complete accuracy as perhaps the most progressive nations had experienced financial economic breakdown these the past few years. You will need to have something stable and secure to place future in a great financial state.
It?s certainly a good thing more and more and more people are looking at metals as the first step toward their investments and that we only hope which they retain these metals investments. Previously there?s been something of the tendency for folks to jump into gold and silver coins investing during periods of crisis, only to profit the moment the American dollar actually starts to require a turn for that better.

Let's Talk Oscars

Then there was Meryl Streep?s best actress upset?an upset by the standards of this year?s set-in-stone race, anyway?a mild but pleasurable surprise that made me realize I?d secretly wanted her to win all along. The Iron Lady was terrible, yes, but that made her triumph in it all the more surprising?how could a movie this bad contain a performance this good? And for all the awards she?s garnered over the past 30 years, for all the genuine graciousness with which she?s insisted Viola Davis should get this award?for all that, you could tell from her face when she found out that Streep really wanted it. That was what I loved most about Meryl?s funny, heartfelt, perfect acceptance speech: her self-mocking but not faux-humble admission that, oh yes, she cared all right. Her mimicking of the reaction of a Streep-fatigued America??Oh come on, whyyyy? Her again??, followed by a breezy wave of the hand and a dismissive ?Whatever!??has me on the floor even rewatching it the day after (I also cried a second time during her fluttering tribute to the makeup and hair man she?s worked with for 30 years, who had just won an Oscar for The Iron Lady.) The French have that expression, bien dans sa peau, for a person who feels ?good in her skin,? who seems somehow at ease with the fact of being alive. I may never have Meryl Streep?s talent or fame or shimmering 62-year-old complexion, but we can all aspire to that one day being that bien in our peau.

Study Suggests Way To Create New Eggs In Women

Pregnant woman's belly

Alvaro Heinzen/iStockphoto

For decades, scientists have thought that one of the big differences between men and women is that men can make children all their lives because men never stop making sperm. But scientific dogma said women aren't so lucky when it comes to their eggs.

"The traditional belief in the field has been that when a baby girl is born, she is given a bank account of eggs, and that bank cannot be added to, only withdrawn from," said Jonathan Tilly, a researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston.

In 2004, Tilly shocked the scientific world when he claimed he had found primitive "stem" cells hiding in the ovaries of adult female mice that could generate new eggs. That raised the possibility that it might be true for women as well.

"The implications at the time were enormous," Tilly said.

?

But that claim was challenged by other scientists. And Tilly had only found the cells in mice. No one knew whether humans had them, too.

In a series of experiments being published in the March issue of the journal Nature Medicine, Tilly and his colleagues say they have proved young adult women have the same cells.

"What this means is that little bank account of eggs that a little girl gets at birth is in fact open to continued deposits," Tilly said.

Here's what Tilly and his colleagues did: First, they got some ovarian tissue from young women. Then they isolated cells that appeared identical to the ones they had found in mice. Next, they say, they showed that the cells can develop into eggs in a dish in the laboratory.

"Right before our eyes, in culture dishes, we were watching that process happen for the first time," Tilly said.

The researchers then injected the cells back into human ovarian tissue to see if they would turn into eggs on their own. To make sure they were looking at the right cells, the scientists genetically engineered them to glow green. The cells started turning into eggs ? and even formed crucial structures called follicles, the researchers report.

"It is those follicle structures that are key to maturing that egg cell to the point where it becomes able to accept sperm and produce an embryo," he said.

The implications of all of this are potentially enormous. It could eventually help restore fertility in women who have become infertile for a variety of reasons, including chemotherapy, early menopause or just normal aging.

"This work is highly significant," said Kutluk Oktay, an infertility specialist at New York Medical College. "If this could be turned into clinical applications, menopause may not exist as we know it."

Others remain skeptical. Much more research is needed to confirm Tilly's claims and to understand what's really going on, they said.

"I don't see this as really being applicable in the near future in the treatment of infertility," said David Albertini of the University of Kansas. "That would be pie in the sky."

Not everyone thinks the focus on enabling women to have children late in life is necessarily a good idea.

"What are we creating as a world? We're creating as a world one in which it's increasingly hard for people to have children when they're young, and then saying, 'But wait, we have solutions, technology ? we can do it when you're older,' " said Barbara Katz Rothman, a sociologist at the City University of New York. "And that's the part that disturbs me."

She argues that society should instead make it easier for women to balance school, work and parenting when they're younger.

For his part, Tilly is focusing on the next step. He's working with colleagues in Britain to try to fertilize eggs made from these cells to prove they can make an embryo that someday could be implanted into a woman's womb.

France: IEA Publishes Report on Renewable Energy

Germany: IEA Publishes Report on Renewable Energy

The International Energy Agency (IEA) will acknowledge the coming of age of the renewable energy sector by publishing, for the first time, an annual medium-term report which analyses that market.

This publication on renewable energy ? which is now the fastest growing sector of the energy mix and accounts for almost a fifth of all electricity produced worldwide ? will join annual medium-term reports on oil, gas and coal, which the IEA already produces. With this report, renewable energy takes its rightful seat at the table alongside the other major energy sources.

?A portfolio of renewable energy technologies is becoming competitive in an increasing range of circumstances and countries,? IEA Executive Director Maria van der Hoeven said in Berlin where she was presenting the recent IEA publication, Deploying Renewables 2011: Best and Future Policy Practice, to German policy makers. However, Ms van der Hoeven stressed that ?significant policy effort, combined with continued economic incentives, is still needed to push a large portfolio of these technologies toward full competitiveness.?

The report, to be published in July 2012, will include five-year projections for global renewable energy electricity capacity and generation. In so doing, it will provide an important benchmark to policymakers and the wider market for measuring developments of renewable energy.

The Medium-Term Renewable Energy Market Report will have three primary objectives:

  • ?Address the current state of play of renewable energy;
  • ?Assess the main drivers and barriers to deployment at country level; and
  • ?Produce medium-term renewable energy projections through 2017.

It will consist of market analysis at the country level, an outlook for renewable energy technologies and their associated manufacturing, and an examination of global renewable energy finance.

In order to prepare this report, in-depth country analysis is being undertaken of key markets and technology-specific drivers and barriers. (These barriers may include economic issues, such as costs compared with fossil fuels, and non-economic issues, including government policies).

As well as employing data that is internally generated and sent from government departments, the IEA is also in contact with over 100 companies and organisations which are sourcing detailed market, cost and performance insights on renewable energy technologies. This additional valuable information from industry ? at a time when the renewable energy market is rapidly changing ? will help the IEA to access the most current views and data available.

Download APKs from the Android Market with a Chrome extension

APK Downloader
APK Downloader is a Chrome extension that does exactly what its name advertises -- download APKs from the Android Market site. Getting the tool up and running takes quite a bit more work than your average browser add-on, requiring you to edit the Chrome shortcut to disable SSL error warnings, but it's hardly rocket science. This should make sideloading apps much easier and give you a chance to try software yourself, even if a developer seems to think its app wont work with your device. There is, of course, room for abuse and it does violate the Market's ToS -- so try it at your own risk. If you're unfazed, hit up the source link for complete instructions.

Expression of PTI-1 in Prostate Cancer and the Study of Its Function ...

Cancer Research

[Abstract]

Prostate cancer(Pca) is the second leading cause of death of men in Europe and North America. Prostate cancer is characterized with the latency and high incidence. In China, 25 percent of men over 70 suffer from prostate cancer, but only a few can become the patients with clinical symptoms. Until now, serum PSA level is the most effective way to diagnose prostate cancer in early stage. But serum PSA level is affected by many factors, we call for a new tumor marker of prostate cancer which has more specificity in diagnosing of prostate cancer.Prostate tumor inducing gene 1 (PTI-1) cloned from a human prostatic carcinoma cell line, LNCaP, was indicated as a dominant- acting tumor inducing gene. By using cotransfection nude mouse tumor assay and differential RNA display (DD) technology, Fisher PB initially detected this putative oncogene in nude mouse tumor derived CREF-Trans6:4NMT cells (CREF-Trans 6 cells transfected with LNCaP DNA), whereas it was not expressed in parental CREF-Trans 6 cells. The 2106 bp full- length PTI-1 cDNA consists of three regions: a 5? unique 620 bp region (1-620 bp), an open reading frame from 621bp to 1814bp encoding a protein of 398 amino acids and a 3?UTR (1818?2106 bp). PTI-1 has oncogenic properties and its transcripts were expressed in various human tumor cell lines, prostate cancer

Cancer's Growing Burden: Rising Cost Of Care

-- Patti Tyree was afraid that cancer would steal her future. Instead, the cost of treating it has.

She had hoped to buy a small farm with money inherited from her mother. But copayments for just one $18,000 round of breast chemotherapy and one shot of a nearly $15,000 blood-boosting drug cost her $2,000.

Bills for other treatments are still coming, and almost half of her $25,000 inheritance is gone.

"I supposedly have pretty good insurance," said Tyree, 57, a recently retired federal worker who lives near Roanoke, Va. "How can anybody afford this?"

Forty years after the National Cancer Act launched the "war on cancer," the battle is not just finding cures and better treatments but also being able to afford them.

New drugs often cost $100,000 or more a year. Patients are being put on them sooner in the course of their illness and for a longer time ? sometimes for the rest of their lives. The latest trend is to use these drugs in combination, guided by genetic tests that allow more personalized treatment but also add to its expense.

It's not just drugs: Radiation treatment is becoming more high-tech, and each leap in technology has brought a quantum leap in expense. Proton therapy is one example ? it costs twice as much as conventional radiation and is attracting prostate cancer patients despite a lack of evidence that it is any better.

The financial strain is showing: Some programs that help people pay their bills have seen a rise in requests, and medical bills are a leading cause of bankruptcies.

"Patients have to pay more for their premiums, more for their copayments, more for their deductibles. It's become harder to afford what we have, and what we have is becoming not only more costly but also complex," said Dr. Michael Hassett, a cancer specialist and policy researcher at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

Insurers also are being squeezed by laws that require coverage and restrict raising premiums. And the burden is growing on Medicare, which in some cases is paying for treatments and tests that have not been shown to benefit patients.

Why have costs escalated so much?

To some extent, it's the price of success.

Cancer deaths have been declining in the United States since the early 1990s. Two out of 3 people now live at least five years after a cancer diagnosis, up from 1 out of 2 in the 1970s, according to the American Society of Clinical Oncology, doctors who treat the disease. Nine out of 10 women with early-stage breast cancer are alive five years after their diagnosis and are probably cured.

Modern treatments have fewer side effects and allow patients to have a greater quality of life than chemotherapy did in the past. But they are far more toxic financially.

Of the nation's 10 most expensive medical conditions, cancer has the highest per-person price. The total cost of treating cancer in the U.S. rose from about $95.5 billion in 2000 to $124.6 billion in 2010, the National Cancer Institute estimates. The true tab is higher ? the agency bases its estimates on average costs from 2001-2006, before many expensive treatments came out.

Cancer costs are projected to reach $158 billion, in 2010 dollars, by the year 2020, because of a growing population of older people who are more likely to develop cancer.

That's the societal cost. For individual patients, costs can vary widely even for the same drug. Dr. Bruce Roth, a cancer specialist at Washington University in St. Louis, tells of Zytiga, a prostate cancer medicine approved last year. It costs $6,100 a month and insurers differ on how much they cover.

"I've had one patient pay $1.50 copay a month and another patient be quoted $5,943," Roth said. Now whenever he hears about a promising new cancer drug, he worries it will be another case "where finances end up determining who gets it."

Tyree, the woman from Virginia, said the hospital billed her insurer $14,865 for Neulasta, a shot to boost white blood cells and help her tolerate chemotherapy. Several cancer specialists said Neulasta usually costs less than half that amount, but the charge was $12,000 for Tyree's friend and blog postings by other cancer patients tell similar stories.

The worst part: A much cheaper alternative is available ? a different formulation of Neulasta ? but many patients aren't offered that option. There's even a cheaper way to get Neulasta, but hospitals make a lot of money giving the shot instead of teaching a patient or a caregiver how to do that.

Tyree said doctors told her Neulasta was "completely routine and everybody got it." She had no idea how much she and her insurer would have to pay for it until the bill came.

A recent American Cancer Society survey found that one-quarter of U.S. cancer patients put off getting a test or treatment because of cost, the group's chief medical officer, Dr. Otis Brawley, writes in his new book "How We Do Harm," which discusses costs and argues for more rational use of health care. One out of 5 survey respondents over 65 said they had used all or much of their savings on cancer care.

The burden hits hard on the middle class ? people too well off for programs that cover the poor but unable to afford what cancer care often costs.

Dr. Amy Abernethy, director of the cancer care research program at Duke University, did a study of 250 such patients from around the country. Most were women with breast cancer, including Tyree. All but one had insurance, and two-thirds were covered by Medicare. The vast majority also had prescription drug coverage.

Their out-of-pocket expenses averaged $712 a month for doctor visits, medicines, lost wages and travel to appointments. To pay for cancer drugs, half spent less on food and clothes, and 43 percent borrowed money or used credit. Also, 26 percent did not fill a prescription, 22 percent filled part of one and 20 percent took less than prescribed.

"Patients don't just have cancer, and that's becoming more and more of a problem" because they also are struggling to buy medicines for heart disease, diabetes and other conditions, Abernethy said.

The challenge will grow as the newest trend in cancer care takes hold: using the new, gene-targeting drugs in combination. There has been limited success using them one at a time ? they tend to buy a few more months or a year or two of life but usually are not cures.

"Almost certainly we will have to use multiple drugs" to shut down all of a tumor's pathways rather than just the main one attacked by a single drug, said Dr. Allen Lichter, the oncology society's chief.

Ironically, "one of the answers to making cancer therapy more cost-effective is to find these targeted agents" and use genetic tests to narrow down which patients really benefit instead of giving them to everyone with a particular type of cancer, Lichter said. For example, the new lung cancer drug Zalkori targets a gene that is present in only 5 percent of lung cancers, but it helps 60 percent of those patients.

Here's where things get sticky. Desperate patients often demand treatments that have a very small chance of helping them. And many doctors feel they have a duty to offer anything that might help, regardless of the cost to insurers and society, said Hassett, the policy researcher from Boston.

An example is the outcry over the government's recent withdrawal of approval of Avastin for breast cancer. Studies showed the drug did not improve survival for most women and there are no biomarkers to identify the few it does help. Many doctors and patients still want access to the drug, and Medicare is still paying for it.

But denying "useless" treatment isn't just about saving money ? it's about avoiding harm and false hope, Brawley writes in his book. "A rational system of health care has to have the ability to say no, and to have it stick," he contends.

Cost can still be a concern long after initial treatment. Many breast cancer patients take medicines for five years to prevent a recurrence. Tyree, the woman from Virginia, is about to start on one of these, Arimidex. It is newer and somewhat more effective than tamoxifen, a medicine long used to prevent cancer's return, but it is also more expensive.

If insurance covers only part of it, "I'll have to pay," Tyree said. "And I don't have any idea how much it is."

Pidgin is language of laughter ? Victor Ehikhamenor

BY MORENIKE TAIRE

It is virtually impossible to predict what Victor Ehikhamenor will do next. From getting repatriated home (to Nigeria) on the team of Next, the newspaper that was to fulfil the integrity yearnings of the idealist Nigerian, as a Creative Director, he morphs to being a big player in new Media publishing with Zazugist.com. Best known as a roving visual artist albeit based in the United States, he is to the arts a natural, as comfortable with the pen as with the scapula. Chatting with Sunday Vanguard over lunch, he tells the reasons why he thinks pidgin English has come of age.

SOME parties have attributed the country?s socio economic woes on the inability of all to converse in the English language properly. What is your take on that?

Everybody is a purist in their profession. When it comes to language I would not say Nigeria?s problem begins with the language because commerce is going on. People trade. Yes, you can say because everybody does not speak the same language there is a problem somewhere but we can not lump the entire thing on it.

Speaking same language
There are countries that speak the same language and have similar problems.

Like which one?
UK has one language, but I?m trying to see an African country that does not have segmented language?
I was going to come to that. In Sierra Leone for instance everybody speaks the creole no matter where they are from?
Pidgin has one of the commonest structures of a developing language.

Every language goes through phases. It has been there for quite a while but it came when the missionaries came so you cannot really say it?s old or mature enough to say it has the nuances and structure it should have but you must not undermine the fact that you have American English, Scottish English, English English, so why can?t we begin to treat it like a proper language. People have been writing novels with pidgin.

Recently, even younger writers such as Uzodinma. These are published by high end, mainstream publishers. Not to go too far, let?s look at Sozaboy, written in rotten English as Ken Saro Wiwa put it. I feel it is one of those languages you can easily speak outside the country. If you and I were to be having a conversation in a London cafe and we don?t want anybody to hear what we are discussing, we?ll switch to pidgin.

But in the case of pidgin there are so many kinds of it. If you are from Warri you might not even understand what someone from Benue is trying to say and then in the North they hardly even speak any pidgin at all.

Not that much but I guess that is where the challenge is because you can?t technically say it?s a nationwide language but it?s the closest thing we have to what you can say is a little bit indigenous and cuts right across. The market woman in Umuahia, you have to speak pidgin to her iF you don?t speak Igbo. If you go to Kano, the spare parts guy selling to the mallam, they are not speaking Hausa.

Victor Ehikhamenor

Pidgin runs along the coastal line in West Africa because they are the first to interact with the explorers and missionaries before it passes on to the hinterland so when you see Warri, Sapele, Sierra Leone, Liberia speaking the language it?s because that is where it came from. Everyone keeps saying pidgin can?t do this and that then WAZOBIA came and everybody started listening to them. It?s almost like saying now that everybody has to understand Wole Soyinka?s type of English.

Proper English
Even the proper English- putting proper in quote- there are people that speak it differently. The English that Patrick Obayamen- former house of rep lawmaker from Edo State- speaks, is different. If you don?t put a dictionary near you, you?ll not understand it. Every language has its variance. I have seen different ways people speak it and write it, which is very interesting. It has a standard, a structure.

It?s not written down?
Among my writers, when they send me articles I have to edit them. What am I editing? Something that has no structure cannot be edited. The white man has not put it in a big book and written about it and all that, we begin to say pidgin is not structured. You just have to learn it, master it the way you master the English language, write about it too. Not all the people who can write it can speak it and not all the people who can speak it can write it.

But there has to be some sort of structure?
When it comes to the written form it has to be able to communicate and anything that needs to be able to communicate must have a structure.

Whose job would that be. Do we just allow it to develop naturally or should we have departments for pidgin studies in universities?

When I was in Ekpoma where I read English as my first degree, we had pidgin English as a second language. Professor Longe taught us that, but until we start doing certain things? then there was no newspaper that used pidgin English as a form of writing. People tend to think it?s only spoken and should not be written.

I think we are the ones that will start it from somewhere. What I?ve started is a forum where one can take a deeper look at this language, with which you speak to everybody, from your maiguard to the president. ?ol? boy, that your hat get as e be o?. It should have a home and that is what I?ve done. People can come and have a conversation that is peculiar to us.

It?s all well and good, though it?s easier on one?s imagination to think of pidgin as a language that is used for comedy or even commerce, music and so on. It cuts across. In terms of news, there is actually a lot of meaning lost when news is translated into pidgin, but that is one side of it. The other side, the way people perceive pidgin in contemporary times in terms of the way people look at WAZOBIA and so on. They don?t perceive them as serious. When they want serious news they go for English.

Again it depends on how you form it. I listen to WAZOBIA a lot. When I first came into the country it was my channel of choice. It was exciting. Why do people say French is a sexy language? The language of love? And they have been able use that. Why can?t we say pidgin is a language of happiness. Does it mean a lot of people don?t hate in France. Does it mean their news is all about love?

When you listen to news on WAZOBIA, the sombre ones, the newscaster is able to tone it down. What we are doing with ZazuNews.com, we look for the news that pertain to the people who are speaking this language. I am not really targeting the upper class who if they hear their child speaking pidgin they will probably slap the child.

Can these people read?
There has been a Yoruba newspaper forever and we have people reading it. We also have to find a way to deliver it to these people. People that you don?t think can read, how many times have you sent them recharge card number or text: abeg check carburettor. How much you go pay for my UBA account.

They read these things. Nigerian literacy rate is about 30 per cent. We are looking at the sms and mobile platforms. We are going to look at applications eventually that will be deployed to android so that people can have quick access. News is just about 2% of what I intend to do with ZazuNews. I want it to be a community, almost like a wedding party.

They are eating food one side, they are drinking one side, the other side is appreciating somebody?s gele, the other side is gossiping: you no see am, e don marry second wife again. That is where you will hear about contract. There are those who say: ?make I go dat wedding sef, make I know as I go take arrange my own?.

You go there to learn as well. Which is why we have a dictionary. It?s not exhaustive but it?s a growing document. We are going to open it up like Wikipedia so that people can add new words. Language is almost a living thing. It?s not static. We want a reference point.

Comments are moderated. Please keep them clean and brief.

what is travel insurance? | Travel Tips, Questions And Answers ...

From amust2407:

Depending on which company you purchase the insurance through, travel insurance will either reimburse you for the money you?ve had to put up in advance if your trip has to be cancelled for a covered reason(sickness, family death, bad weather), or the travel insurance will help you rebook your plans to another time that?s available.

Also, some travel insurance plans provide some tiype of medical coverage in case you get injured or killed while on you trip. Some plans will help cover your property if it?s stolen while on the trip. Some will help with the purchase of temporary clothing if the airline sends yours to another location.

As you can see, there are many things that travel insurance can do, and I would ALWAYS recommend it if you?re planning a vacation where there?s a good amount of money invested.

Rob Long hired as Royal Palm Beach boys? hoops coach; Brian Joros steps down as athletics director

There?s been a lot of turnover at Royal Palm Beach the past few years, but with his newest hire, Principal Jesus Armas wants to establish some stability with his boys? basketball program.

Rob Long

Armas announced Thursday that long-time coach Rob Long, who has worked closely with Armas at several schools over the years, will replace Drew Quinn as the boys? hoops coach at Royal Palm Beach. Long was dismissed as Boca?s coach 10 days ago, but will finish out his teaching duties at Boca before moving to Royal Palm Beach in August. Quinn was fired last Friday.

?In my mind, he is one of the best basketball minds in the state of Florida,? Armas said of Long. ?His teams always play hard. He?s credentialed. He?s won everywhere he?s gone.?

Long, 56, coached Suncoast to a state championship in 1990, and brought his 2000 Jupiter squad to Lakeland, too. He has compiled a 317-199 record in 18 seasons as a head coach. He was 57-40 in four seasons at Boca, but his teams failed to reach the playoffs. Boca Principal Geoff McKee said he dismissed Long in an effort to change the leadership style of the school?s basketball program. Last week, Boca hired 23-year-old alum Max Spinner as Long?s replacement.

Armas, who followed Long as Suncoast?s basketball coach in the 1990s, wanted to make it clear that Long?s hiring and Quinn?s firing had nothing to do with each other. Armas also worked with Long at Jupiter, but he said Long?s availability simply made finding Quinn?s replacement easier.

?Both decisions were made separately of one another, absolutely,? Armas said. ?It was a no-brainer because Rob was available.?

Joros steps down as AD:?Armas also announced that baseball coach Brian Joros stepped down as Royal Palm Beach?s athletics director before baseball season. Joros told his principal that he needed to focus on coaching baseball. Former football coach Eric Patterson replaced Joros as athletics director.

Between Rampage?s kids and Japanese reporter, UFC folks take a beating in White vlog

(Warning: Video contains strong language)

Dana White takes us behind the scene of UFC 144 week. His latest vlog tracks the pre-fight press conference.

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson expressed his love of Japan and said he wants to move there for a year. But it's not for a standard reason you'd expect. Jackson's children are of Japanese descent and they speak the language fluently.

"My kids be talking [expletive] about me man. They fluent. They talk [expletive] about me right in front of my face," Jackson said. "I just want to learn so I can talk [expletive] right back to them."

White gets some trash talk dealt his way when someone at the press conference says he put some weight on (6:42 mark). White jokes "thanks for insulting me."

Total Recall: Worst-Reviewed Best Picture Nominees

Dave J. on 02-22-2012 05:17 PM

I dunno, I kind of liked "Anthony Adverse" for what it is, starring two-time Oscar winner Fredric March and Oscar winning actress Olivia De Havilland and perhaps "Blossoms In the Dust" with critism is that "There is no comedy relief." is it supposed to be a comedy, I've always thought it's a drama if it's based on a true story!

Haven't seen the other films as of yet!

Payday Loans Canada: No Faxing No Collateral Instant Finance

An amount up to $1,500 is advanced towards Payday loans Canada to the people living in Canada which simply explains that the amount of loan is small. However small the amount may be, it is considered as great assistance by the people who are to depend solely on their fixed and limited monthly earning. It is more so, because the ever-rising market price has been creating serious problem in the society where individuals are in no state, most of the time, to pull on with what they earn.

Payday loans Canada are available to the citizens of Canada and to the authorized residents of this country, but the finance seekers must be adult or over 18. The finance providers do know their business pretty well and delaying can never be noted in their syllabus. They receive the loan application and go through the entries made by the loan seekers. If the loan application is found to be all right, they dispatch the payable amount to the bank account of the respective borrow, electronically, and immediately. This is why the borrower must hold an active and valid bank account.

The lending agencies determine the amount that they advance to the eligible loan seekers towards payday loans Canada. The amount is fixed on the basis of the range of monthly earning of the applicant. It is an imperative that the loan seekers are employed or self-employed. They must support the loan application with certified documents to make it clear that they have substantial income on monthly basis.

Payday loans Canada come against the paycheck of the next month and the finance program is not attached to collateral. This is to imply that the loan seekers are not instructed to put up any sort of tangible property as security. Finance of this kind is again exempted from faxing. Moreover, people who have stained their credit report are also allowed to go for payday loans Canada.

Payday loans Canada are associated with higher rates of interest. The borrower must not leave any mark of negligence in repayment. They must be regular in paying back the loan amount. If it is not done or if the lenders do not get back their investment within stipulated time, they charge the borrowers with penalties or fines. The tenure for repayment is no doubt short; the finance providers offer two to four weeks only. The loan seekers, after they get the loan amount, can independently spend the same for purposes that they will consider necessary and important.

'Select' PS Vita apps hit the US PlayStation Store: Netflix, LiveTweet and Flickr

Did you just brave the lines of a midnight launch party and snag yourself a PS Vita in the US? Good news ye early adopters, Sony's PlayStation.Blog.US has just announced that select free apps will be available today as part of today's PlayStation Store update. Currently, you'll find Netflix, LiveTweet and Flickr, but there's still nary of trace of Facebook or Foursquare among the bunch (nor any official word on release dates for that matter). We gave each app a download and quick spin prior to them being officially listed, and everything's running fairly smooth so far. Disappointingly, Vita's 20MB cap on 3G data is totally in effect on Netflix, as switching to our cellular connection denied us any access to the service. We're giving the apps some extended use to bring you our initial impressions shortly, but for now, you'll find more info at the source link below.
