Get Rid of Your Nail Fungus and Get Your Feet Back On Show - GNET

Suffering from nail fungus can lead to a variety of demoralizing situations; wanted to wear those strappy sandals on your night out? Nope! Invited to join your friends for a pedicure? Think again! It can damage your self-esteem so much, that you are put off from doing things that involve revealing your feet to anyone! But it really needn?t be like that; we can show you how to deal with your nail fungus easily and quickly, and banish it for good!

What is Nail Fungus?

Nail fungus is caused when fungus gets into the nail bed, or under the nail itself, and starts to breed exponentially. Sometimes, the fungus will even infect the layers of the nail itself. It can exist on fingernails, but more often it is the toenail that suffers. Here it has found a perfect breeding ground; dark, warm and moist inside the shoe, it?s exactly what the fungus needs to run riot.

The result is a nail that is yellowing and thickened, crumbling or splintered. Sometimes the infection will actually be painful. Altogether, it is not pleasant in the slightest! And to make matters worse, the body often finds it hard to shift the fungus by itself, because in many people, circulation to the toes can be poor, so the white blood cells that would ordinarily detect an infection and rush to attack it, can?t quite get there in full force. Your poor toenails are going to need some back up!

Here is our guide to different ways of battling your nail fungus, and making your feet so lovely, you?ll want to show them off again!

  1. 1) The Prescription Approach:
There are plenty of pharmaceutical medicines available for the treatment of your infection, and your doctor will be happy to advise you which is best for you; these are generally oral fungicidal treatments, and work on average 50-75% of the time. The effectiveness of the medication often takes a while to show, because it relies on the nail growing to reveal healthy un-infected nail coming in at the nail bed. Because these are oral medications, they can have implications on your internal systems, and people who suffer from liver or kidney complaints should discuss this with their doctor before undertaking any courses of fungicides. Some treatments are topical, in the form of creams or sprays, and involve coating the nail; often doctors will recommend an oral and a topical treatment in combination, to really blast the fungi from all sides.
  1. 2) The Home Remedy Approach:
If you search the Internet, you?ll find many varying, and some terrifying, home remedies that claim to fix all your problems. Most of these will be worth steering clear of! However, one remedy that seems to have consistently positive reviews is the use of vinegar soaks. Now, there is no science to back this remedy up, other than the slight antibacterial properties that vinegar has, but the reviews suggest it may be worth a try: The idea is to soak your feet daily for about 15 minutes in a solution that is 1 part vinegar to 2 parts warm water. Make sure you dry your feet properly afterwards, as moisture will exacerbate your problem, and of course if the vinegar irritates your skin, then opt for an alternative treatment.
  1. 3) The Homeopathic Approach:
Natural remedies can be surprisingly effective, often because the ingredients have been used for many generations and have been tried and tested on real people rather than in the lab. Popular treatments include tea tree oil, and grapefruit seed extract, although we would recommend http://www.zetaclear.com/, which combines several of these homeopathic ingredients in one solution.
  1. 4) The Laser Approach:
A fairly recent solution to nail fungus can be found in the form of laser treatment, which targets and destroys the fungi living in and under the nail. These lasers are the same as those used for cataract treatment! Be warned that this treatment may be mildly painful, and quite expensive. Make sure you approach a reputable clinic for treatment- lasers are powerful tools!
